.300 Whisper AR Build

So I'm in the midst of doing a .300 Whisper build on an AR platform. I just received my Noveske 16" barrel (pistol gas position) and am planning to primarily shoot 220gr or 240gr subsonic loads.

What bolt carrier group (F/A or Semi) and buffer combination will work best?

Bolts are the same for full auto or semi auto so I assume you mean the carrier. My 300FB uses a semi-auto carrier and a standard carbine buffer. I posed a similar question when I was researching prior to building mine and the consensus seemed to be not to mess with carrier and buffer weight. That is what I went with and it has worked well for me.

I posed the same question. I have the 10.5" version and this was the response I received:

The carrier can be semi or auto. You should use a standard carbine buffer and spring for subs, you might want to try an H2 with supersonic.

Two different friends are using 1) a JP low mass carrier and the other 2) is useing a modified spring, however, I think both of them have carbine length gas system.

Hope it helps.

And I've had excellent results with my 16" Noveske barrel using an A1 buffer tube and a standard rifle buffer with a semi-auto carrier.
