Handle on the M7?

Two days ago I bought what can only be an M7 bayonet (in an M10 scabbard). I've been looking on the internet to figure out what kind of bayonet it was and the M7 is the closets thing I found because of the blade's shape and the pommel mechanism. However, all of the M7 pictures have the generic plastic grip you see all over the internet. My grip Is different, it is segmented rather than the grid pattern, and has a US Army emblem on one side and says "US ARMY" on the other. Can anyone explain this?

Sounds like an Ontario M7B.
