125gr Sierra gameking it will shoot 1moa but I am not happy with the terminal ballistics. I am looking at other bullets and trying to decide what to try next.
BTW, It might not be the bullet, it could very well be me that is the problem.

125g sph and 125g nbt
I have been trying out both on hogs. So far I haven't got anything but head/neck shots with the Nosler. I have had good result with those shots. I am concerned with shoulder or heart lung shots with the Nosler on big hogs. I have taken 3 large hogs with the Pro Hunter. All 3 DRT. One neck, one in high shoulder out ribs and one angling from rear and out chest. Seemed to have way better penetration than the NBT. I started with the nbt and am now a PH convert for hogs. Both of mine shoot almost exactly the same point of impact out to 250 so I may use NBT for deer and PH for hogs. Both shoot sub moa.
I would also like to hear about how the speers and the barnes work on deer and hogs.

I was looking at the list of bullets in the poll and the one that makes the most sense to me is the 125gr Nosler BT. It has been used extensively in handgun hunting and proven to be effective at lower velocities. That said, I'm just repeating what I've read as I haven't even loaded any for my 300/221 yet.
What I found interesting was the interest in the V-Max and TNT. Aren't they varmint bullets? If so, wouldn't that limit penetration too much for deer sized game? If I'm wrong please fill me in, I'm very interested in expanding my 300/221 from just subsonic suppressed use into a workhorse with good lethal hunting/personal defense type rounds.

I think I posted in this thread or another similar that 130 Barnes and 125 Nosler BT are doing great work at the lower supersonic ranges available to the Whisper and similiar. The varmint type bullets also act "differently" at lower fps.
But it is hard to beat the Nosler 125s as a general go to projectile in the Whisper and the 30BR.
