Lile Rambo II knife

I have been looking for more authentic photos of the Rambo knives for Buck-184.com and in the process I have been watching ebay as I have gained many quality images from sellers there...

Well, today I happened to see this knife on ebay.

I have e-mailed the seller and received permission to use their images on Buck-184.com as the cheap UCC copies just are not quite the same.... The photos are now in the photo server here.

Here is the description from the auction:

Quote:
Absolutely Hard to Find

Original Jymmy Lile Sly II Rambo Knife !!

NO COPY or FAKE !!

This is ORIGINAL !!

No DOT - Pre Death

With Original Johnson Sheath!

Rare 7,5" Blade !( No scratch's or Dings!!)

UN-WORN !!

UN-CARRIED !!

100% MINT "Museum" Conditions !!

LOOK the PICS!!

....a beauty !
As an aside, if anybody has either the Lile Rambo 1 or 2 knives or an original Gil Hibben Rambo III knife I would love to get some images to improve Buck-184.com. I have added sections to the photo server so that anybody with some of these knives can upload photos... http://www.quarterbore.net/forums/ph...ry.php/cat/536. If you upload images of knives, please let me know if the knife is yours and if I may use the images on Buck-184 as I don't want to rework that site with images that I have not received permission to use and then need to remove them later or get into trouble for copyright issues... If you post a photo of a knife you find on the web, please post a URL where the image came from as well!

Thanks!

Smile Hi There!

First of all - Hi! Everyone. I am new to this forum.
In response to this posting I have downloaded some photos of LILE beautiful knives - SLY II and RAMBO (The Mission) with a brief description, side by side with Buck 184. i found that sometimes the way these knives are called (Rambo, Sly,...) is somewhat confusing, so I tried to clear this, for people who are interested, based on LILE catalogues info. However all mysteries will be revealed soon when the book on LILE will be published.
...... should be mentioned that LILE knives were offered in 440C and D2, i think that 440C was much favored by Mr. Lile. Particularly SLY II knives (i.e. First Blood part I) style were also offered with wrapped handle or unwrapped,.... the cord was supplied however in case the owner would prefer to do all wrapping himself. These knives were also available in three sizes - 9, 7-1/2 and 6 inch blades. Looks like the smaller sized blades are not common at all, at least you dont see them anywhere all to often. indeed production figures are hard to obtain....
